In our year-end issue, we told you about the new library card coming soon to your wallet or keychain — one that will be good at 11 libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties.
As a cardholder, you’ll also reap the benefits of a shared circulation system (called SPARK) — such as searching the holdings of all the libraries at once and borrowing from any library quickly and easily.
Well, we’re one step closer now. The new cards are here, and in about four weeks — as soon as all the behind-the-scenes work of reconciling patron and catalog data from all 11 libraries is complete — we’ll be able to start handing them out!
Be on the lookout in the next two issues (Jan. 16 and Jan. 30), on our website/blog, and in the library for more details and information about what you’ll need in order to ‘trade up’ to your powerful (and colorful) new card.
