Please consider how valuable the Library is to you and your family. Since 1940, we have provided library materials, services, and events FREE of charge. We continue to look for new ways to provide assistance to the communities and patrons we serve, despite recent decreases in state, borough, and township funding. Your important - and greatly appreciated - donation will help with operating expenses, adding materials to the collections, and providing dynamic and engaging events for all ages.
Please include the library as part of your giving plans - every donation helps!

The Emmaus Public Library is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, therefore all donations are tax-deductible. Click Here for a copy of our Annual Fund Letter or use the PayPal link below. The library can send you a letter of receipt for tax purposes to the return address provided with your payment.

Welcome to the Emmaus Public Library

Welcome to the Emmaus Public Library. The library is part of the Access Pennsylvania program and serves residents of the East Penn area (Emmaus Borough, Macungie Borough, and Upper Milford Township). Patrons from other areas holding a valid home library card and photo ID are also eligible for borrowing and reference services.

You must have your library card to borrow or renew materials. (If you forget your library card, there is a $1.00 charge to check out materials with the presentation of valid picture ID). Your library card is a permanent card; keep it always. Your information and the card will be updated periodically at the library. The replacement fee for a lost card is $2.00. As a cardholder, you have agreed to be responsible for all items borrowed and charges incurred.

Announcements

We're in the Emmaus Halloween Parade! The Halloween Festivities kick off Saturday, October 20th - the 5K starts at 7 PM & the parade starts at 7:30 PM. You can march with us (email Miss Sue at eplkids@cliu.org to sign up & discuss costumes- this year's theme is Harry Potter) or watch for us from the sidewalk.

Please join us for the ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, November 8th at 2 PM! RSVP to epldirector@cliu.org or by calling 610-965-9284 x204 as space is limited. The addition has increased the library’s floor space by over 2,000 square feet, providing a flexible area for educational programs for children and gives the young adults designated space just for them and their collections. The previous children’s section will be transformed into an adult reading lounge with a permanent Friends of the Emmaus Public Library book sale area.

Congratulations to Maryellen Kanarr who has been named as the new Library Director. Maryellen was the Adult Service Librarian at Emmaus Public Library and has worked previously at several other libraries in the area. We welcome her promotion & look forward to working with her in her new role.

Mark your calendars for Emmaus' Old-Fashioned Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 1. We'll have special story and craft times as well as a performance by the Liberty Lane Singers.
