Not only have we broken decades-old rainfall records in the Valley lately, but it’s been raining books and DVDs in here too — 105 of them, in fact.

The latest batch includes 33 adult fiction reads from the likes of Daniel Silva, David Baldacci, and Debbie Macomber. New nonfiction includes wisdom from baseball great Cal Ripken Jr., a memoir (with recipes) from former Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl, and a fascinating look at the secret life of the world’s most expensive painting ($450 million, gulp). Yes, but does it match the couch?

Speaking of art, new audiobooks include both The Art of Happy Moving (…is there really such a thing?) and The Art of Racing in the Rain, which is also currently in theaters. That’s just a drizzle of what you’ll find in the latest roundup, though.

Go here to view/download the entire list, then click on a cover image for details and reserve items from your account online if you like for easy pickup at the front desk.

If it’s too hot or rainy to even venture out, let your fingers do the legwork and visit our downloadable library (Libby/OverDrive), which has more than 13,000+ free eBooks and eAudiobooks available with your library card and password (four-digit PIN). Since our last update, there have been 22 new additions there too — and remember that if you need help getting started, you can stop in with your device or set up a half-hour ‘Book a Librarian’ session with Lauri the Librarian (who is way nicer than Conan the Barbarian). Just email her at eplcollection@cliu.org or call 610-965-9284 x210 to set up a convenient time.
