The private funding thermometer rose by
$12,277 in July, bringing the total for the year to $57,574, or 48 percent of the goal.

The strong boost can be credited almost exclusively to the Friends of EPL, who donated $11K from their spring book sale and another $400 from sales in the Book Nook last month. Thank you Friends!

General donations of nearly $200 and cash receipts of nearly $700 (for lost and damaged items, printing/copying, and room rentals) rounded out the rest.

With five months to go, the gap is $62,263, or $12,452 per month on average.

In July, the library also received a $15K grant from the Harry C. Trexler Trust. These funds are separate from the private-funding goal and will go towards replacing one of the aging HVAC units.

Representatives from the Trexler Trust paid us a visit recently and had a chance to see the new circulation desk and other projects they have funded over the years. We are most grateful for their support of the library and so many other community organizations!

As mentioned last month, we have received two Public Library Association/ AT&T grants for additional computer/digital literacy workshops. Eight workshops have now been scheduled — starting Oct. 9 with Internet Basics and continuing every other Monday at 11 a.m. through Jan. 22. In addition, an info session on the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is scheduled for Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. Visit the events calendar for details.

Check back next month for August results and please continue to show your support for the library by shopping at the Friends’ Book Nook, making a donation, volunteering, or something else.

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF OUR LIBRARY COMMUNITY!
