The private-funding thermometer rose by $16,917 in November, bringing the sum for the year to $118,888 or 103.6% of the goal.

Annual fund campaign contributions of more than $12K provided the biggest boost. Results also included $1500 for Tee Time sponsorships, more than $500 from the Friends’ Book Nook, and more than $1000 from cash receipts (printing, damaged/lost items, room rental, etc.).

General gifts totaled more than $1500 last month, including several ‘in memory of’ gift book tributes, which are a great way to honor a loved one while also supporting the library. Go here to learn more. You can also give a tribute gift in any amount and give your honoree a card to commemorate it.

With two weeks to go, we’re pleased that results have already surpassed this year’s target, which is a projection of the gap between what the library receives from public sources (state and local) and the projected operating budget. The additional funds help address any increase in the gap due to inflation and utilities and/or help the library reduce draw-down from its capital account for capital expenses (building, grounds, fixtures, furnishings, equipment and technology).

Of course, you may still make a tax-deductible donation through the end of the year and support the library in other ways — all much appreciated.

Check back next month for the 2022 total and a look ahead at 2023!
