The private-funding thermometer rose by $1,916 in July, bringing the sum for the year to $67,039, or 58.4% of the goal.

The total included $852 in general gifts, $538 in sales from the Friends’ Book Nook, $135 in fundraising income (i.e., annual fund donations and EPL merchandise), and nearly $400 in cash receipts for lost or damaged items, printing/copies, etc.

With five months left to go, the gap is $47,667, or $9,533 per month on average.

In July, the library also received the funds from the $20K Trexler Trust grant we mentioned last month for a new circulation desk. The board approved the purchase at their July meeting, and the desk should be arriving in time for the holidays.
