The new year is off and running, and that means we’ve hit ‘reset’ on our private-funding thermometer.

The good news is that funding at both the state and local level has stayed the same as last year. The library’s budget, approved by the board last month, will remain flat in 2021 — and that means the private-funding target will stay at $108,034 again for this year. [See ‘Where does the library get its money?‘ for a refresher on private funding.]

In January, private funding totaled $3,453, mainly from donations to the library’s annual fund campaign, as well as sponsorships for the upcoming Tee Time at the Library event. Sales from the Friends’ Book Nook, fines and fees, and printing revenue made up the rest.

Tee Time at the Library — the year’s first big fundraiser — is a great way to support the library while enjoying a fun and budget-friendly outing with family or friends. Get your tickets at the library or online today!

Another great way to help the library is with a tax-deductible monthly or one-time donation. Click the ‘donate’ button below and visit the ‘Support EPL’ page for more ideas to help fill up the thermometer this year!

Thank you for supporting the library
