Are you a resident of Emmaus Borough? Would you like to give back to the community by serving on the library’s Board of Trustees? If so, there is currently an opening!

The library is governed by a board of trustees made up of nine members, plus the library director (who does not vote). Six board members are from Emmaus Borough, two from Upper Milford Township, and one from Macungie Borough. Members are appointed by their local town council.

The board’s responsibilities include administration, policy, planning, fiscal, advocacy, and networking. They meet once monthly at noon on the third Tuesday at the Emmaus library, and the meetings are open to the public.

Terms for board members are three years. The current opening is for a board member from Emmaus Borough to serve through the end of 2021. Applications are accepted until the position is filled. You must be 18 or older.

If you’re interested, please email Maryellen Kanarr, library director, call 610-965-9284 x204, or fill out an application at Emmaus Borough Hall, also available online.
