The private funding thermometer rose by $2,393 in September, bringing the total to $66,060, or 55.1 percent of the goal.

The bulk of last month’s private funding boost — more than $1,200 — came from private donations and the donation box, with sales in the Friends’ Book Nook adding another $728.

Cash receipts of roughly $400 (for lost and damaged items, printing/copying, and room rentals) rounded out the rest.

With three months to go, the gap is $53,777, or $17,926 per month on average.

This is also when 2024 budgets are discussed and decisions are made by the municipalities we serve, and continued funding is never guaranteed. Please contact your local council members (see links below) and urge them to allocate adequate funding for the library in next year’s budget:
