Did you know the library has two streaming platforms available for your use? This club will pick one movie each month from Kanopy **to view independently at home** then chat about it via Zoom. The film this month is 2017 Oscar-nominated Loving Vincent (PG-13, 1h 34min), the first fully painted feature film inspired by the life and death of Vincent Van Gogh. * Intro to Domestic ViolenceIntro to Domestic Violence

Time: 6:00 pm

Join educators of Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley for a presentation on domestic and intimate partner violence. We will focus on defining what it is, and how we can recognize warning signs in order to prevent it. We’ll also discuss what the effects can look and feel like for different types of survivors by better understanding the methods of power and control utilized by abusers. We will learn ways to effectively communicate with survivors in order to support them. We encourage all participants to bring an idea of a book or books that could be considered as options for a book club that we can transition into following this presentation! No registration necessary.

April is National Poetry Month! Join us for a poetry reading and book signing by Robert Fillman, assistant professor of English at Kutztown University. Fillman is the author of House Bird (Terrapin Books, 2022) and the chapbook November Weather Spell (Main Street Rag, 2019). He has been a finalist for the Cider Press Review Book Award, the Gerald Cable Book Award, and the Ron Rash Award in Poetry. His poems have appeared in The Hollins Critic, Nashville Review, and Paterson Literary Review among others.
