Just 10 days in, this year’s Summer Reading Club already has nearly 650 members! That includes more than 350 children and teens, plus almost 300 adults who are setting a great example by sharing their love of reading with their children or grandkids.

If you haven’t joined yet, there’s still time to sign up and reap the rewards of membership — like the winner of our Week 1 gift basket — compliments of Wawa, one of the generous sponsors donating prizes again this year.

Adults who submit brief reviews of books they read or listen to are eligible for a drawing of a different gift basket each week. In addition, all adults get a free book and tickets to the PA Renaissance Faire when they become available later in the summer.

Teens (going into 6th grade and up) earn raffle tickets for every hour of reading, which they can enter to win great prizes and gift baskets on display at the library.

Children can collect beads or stickers for each hour of reading (or being read to), plus prizes for every two hours up to 10 hours. Attending library events or completing activities on their SRC ‘game board’ earns them extra rewards.

All children and teens get a free book and a free pair of sunglasses (compliments of Alpha Optical) just for joining.

Stop in at the Summer Reading table today and sign up to read for fun and rewards. Adults can also sign up online via Web form.

Not sure what to read? Check out a list of what’s new at the library (updated every two weeks), check the library displays, or ask Miss Sue (Youth Services Librarian) or Lauri Miller (Adult Services Librarian) for a recommendation. They’ll be glad to help you find a great book!
