Summer Reading Club 2022 – Oceans of Possibilities
June 13- August 13, 2022

Our Summer Reading Club is for readers of all ages! Children and Young Adults can read for incentives based on time spent reading (just like last year) and Adults have the option to enter book reviews for a chance to win a basket of goodies and gift certificates from local businesses and Book Nerd swag. You don’t need a library card to participate in SRC, but you do need one to borrow physical or electronic materials. You can start your card application online here. Check our guidelines for obtaining a card and learn more about the Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative (LCLC) click here. SRC- Oceans of Possibilities runs June 13 – August 13, 2022 . The last day for Children and Young Adults to log hours and turn in reviews is August 13, and the last day to pick up incentives is August 20.

We’re using Beanstack for readers of all ages to track their reading, earn points and badges, and more. You can use the website or download the FREE app for Android or Apple devices to sign up. No library card is required, but you do need an email address. You can register multiple users with one email, or each user can provide their own email. If you prefer paper over the web platform, you can find the materials you will needhere. For questions or help with sign ups, check out these tips on registration and logging books. You can also connect with us by calling 610-965-9284 during business hours, or via the webform any time. Join us for our Summer Reading Kick Off Party on the Lawn Saturday, June 18th from 11 AM to 3 PM. We’ll have games, prizes, food trucks, and live music from Dave Fry.

Young Adults (entering 6th grade and up to 18 years old) earn a raffle ticket for each hour spent reading as well as bonuses for completing additional activities, attending SRC events, and more. Teens can enter the tickets for a chance to win one of several gift baskets drawn throughout the summer.

Adults (ages 18 and over) can read books in any format and submit a review for each title to be entered to win a raffle basket. The winners will be drawn on June 28th, July 19th, and August 9th. Winners will be notified via email or telephone. Everyone who doesn’t win a basket will be entered in a drawing for a final gift basket to be raffled off at the conclusion of the program. All adults who sign up get an SRC tote bag and a FREE book to keep, while supplies last.

Ready to plan a great summer with us? Check our calendar for more great SRC events all summer long — we’ve got something to do nearly every day! If you want to print out your own SRC materials you can find them all here or you can email Miss Sue for Children and Teens or Lauri for Adults.

Not sure what to read next? Check out a list of what’s new at the library (updated every two weeks), try goodreads to see what other are reading and recommending, check the library displays, or ask Miss Sue (Youth Services Librarian) or Lauri (Adult Services Librarian) for a recommendation. They’ll be glad to help you find a great book!
