The private-funding thermometer rose by $11,040 in April, bringing the total for the year to $26,455, or 23 percent of the goal.

April funding highlights included a $6,360 grant for expanding our digital services (Hoopla and Kanopy) and e-books (Libby) in response to the pandemic. The grant was made possible in part by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the US institute of Museum and Library services as administered by the PA Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries. The amount received in April represents approximately two-thirds of the total amount we’re due to receive this year.

In addition, the library received a donation through United Way of nearly $2,500.

Sales in the Friends’ Book Nook contributed more than $500 last month, and — while not yet reflected in the results — the Friends’ spring book sale raised more than $10K for the library, including membership fees and donations made at the sale. Wow!

Tee Time was a big success once again, raising nearly $10K in its second year. We’re thankful for our sponsors, everyone who attended, the board of trustees, and all the volunteers for creating such a great, fun event!

Finally, cash receipts from copies/printing, lost or damaged items, and the donation box added nearly $600 to private funding last month.

Check out all the ways you can support the library. You’re sure to find one that helps you play a part in EPL’s success.

Thank you!
