April added another $5,667 to private funding, bringing the four-month total to $42,464, or 39.3% of the annual goal.

The biggest boost came from Tee Time at the Library, which brought hundreds of residents out to enjoy a fun round of mini golf in the stacks, plus great refreshments, music and community — all in support of the library.

Through sponsorships, donations and ticket sales, Tee Time raised more than $10K. Way to go!

Sales from the Friends’ ‘Book Nook’ were the second largest component of April results, with cash receipts from operations (printing, fines and fees), and donations from individuals and organizations rounding out the rest.

Weather was great and the turnout was awesome for the Friends’ Spring Used-Book Sale on May 15. While we await the results, we want to thank everyone who worked so hard to organize the event, all the book lovers who shopped til they dropped, and the tireless crew who helped to set up and clean up!

Finally, we just received news that EPL has been awarded a $20K grant from the Harry C. Trexler Trust to replace older flooring later this year. We’ll have an update (and do a happy dance) when the new carpeting is installed.

We are one lucky library! Thank you for supporting EPL.
