If you haven’t visited your library account online recently — or maybe never at all — this post will show you how.

By accessing your account online, you’ll be able to see what you have checked out, renew items, reserve items, and more — thanks to our new circulation system: SPARK.

In upcoming posts, we’ll go into all the features of your online account, but for now, let’s go over how to log in and see what you have out and when it’s due back:

  • On the next screen (below), enter your library card number and your PIN. Be sure to enter ALL 14 characters on your library card — they appear under the barcode. Your PIN is a 4-digit number/password (chosen by you) that was created for you to access your account. If you can’t remember your PIN — or if the PIN you remember doesn’t work now — try the last four digits of your phone number, as it may have been reset in the switch to the new circulation system in June. You can also try the ‘Forgot your password?’ link located under the box where you enter your PIN. You’ll be asked to enter the 14 digits of your barcode and your email address, and you’ll receive an email with instructions to reset your PIN. If you’re still having trouble, come on by the library with your card and we’ll get you squared away.

  • From there, you’ll be taken to your account summary (below), which shows:
    • how many items you have checked out
    • how many items you have on hold or ready for pickup
    • any charges/fines on your account
    • your card’s expiration date

  • To see what you have checked out, just click on either of the areas shown circled in red below (left). You’ll be taken to a screen listing your current loans and their due date (below, right).

Next time, we’ll go over how to renew your items online … in case there’s a big blizzard, or it’s after hours, or you just really want to stay in your cozy pajamas and finish that book. Read on!
